Guidelines for supplying your own artwork.
Imposition
Please ensure that you do not supply your files imposed or as "printers pairs". Please only send one version.
Artwork Bleed
It is essential that there is a minimum of 3mm of image bleed around your artwork, to enable us to guillotine your project correctly. Please note that there is a 1mm tolerance for cutting on all jobs.
Save your artwork as any of the below formats.
Please ensure that the colour is set to CMYK not RGB or correct Pantone colours.
Amendments
Quark Express
Please ensure all fonts and pictures used in your artwork are supplied to us in a separate folder using the "collect for output" function under the "file" menu. If needed compress the document using Stuffit or WinZip before uploading or sending your order via e-mail.
Please include a screen shot of the artwork or a PDF. This is for our reference to make sure that nothing is missing or moved on the artwork supplied.
PDF Files
We request all our artwork to be supplied as high resolution (300dpi) with a 3mm bleed. It is important that you prepare your PDF file in the correct way. These options must be set for commercial printing:
- Resolution - Choose High Resolution
- Compression Settings - For colour & greyscale this should be down sampled to 300dpi with "auto compression" set on high
- Font Embedding - Should be set to "embed all fonts"
Colour needs to be set as CMYK not RGB or correct Pantone colours. (RGB artwork will be converted to CMYK and this could effect your colours).
Illustrator
Include all embedded images and convert all text to outlines if the artwork is print ready. Save as a EPS file.
Photoshop
Set Resolution to 300dpi when starting your new document. Save file as either TIFF or JPEG.
Other files not listed above must be saved either as a EPS or JPEG.
Please note: If you need us to make changes to your file please supply the original layered photoshop file.
Indesign
Please ensure all fonts and pictures used in your artwork are supplied to us in a separate folder, in links pallet go to utilities then copy links to. If needed compress the document using Stuffit or WinZip before uploading or sending your order via e-mail.
Please include a PDF. This is for our reference to make sure that nothing is missing or moved on the artwork supplied. Please note that this will be proofed first and could cause a longer delivery time.
Microsoft documents
We can use the following formats for printing but please be aware that sometimes there is conflict between PC and Mac.
- Word
- Excel
- Powerpoint
If you do use any of the above formats please try to save as a pdf on completion as we have found this to be the most reliable file to use.
